Activities Coordinator | Permanent Full Time | 32 Hours Per Week | 6-Week Rotating Roster | Papanui, Christchurch

Bupa Parklands Care Home in Papanui is a well-established 127-bed care home providing rest home, hospital, and psychogeriatric care, creating a varied and rewarding environment for an experienced activities professional. We're looking for an Activities Coordinator to join the team on a permanent full-time basis working 32 hours per week on a six-week rotating roster, 4 shifts on 2 shifts off, from 10:30am to 4:30pm.
This role requires someone who can confidently coordinate engaging activities, adapt programmes to suit residents with differing care needs, build strong relationships across the care home, and take ownership of creating meaningful daily experiences. You'll work with residents across multiple levels of care, giving you the opportunity to deliver activities that support both wellbeing and social connection.

Hours & Roster Details:
- Employment Type: Permanent Full Time
- Hours: Average 32 hours per week
- Shift Time: Day Shifts, 10:30am to 4:30pm
- Roster Pattern: 4 days on, 2 days off (6-weekly roster across Monday - Sunday)
Skills and Qualification
To be successful in this role, you will enjoy a variety of work and have prior experience in this field, along with an interest in and understanding of the elderly and their needs.
- You’ll have a NZQA (or equivalent) Diversional Therapy (level 4) Certificate (or working towards a DT qualification)
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferable.
- Have a creative flair to contribute towards a full and varied activities programme and help look after our residents while creating a caring atmosphere.
- You are a caring, team player, vibrant, and energetic, with an active interest in organising activities for multiple levels of function and ability.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
