The purpose of the Senior Technology Assurance Lead is to support the delivery of the second line Technology Risk Assurance Program, with a particular focus on AI and data assurance, helping improve internal controls, assess emerging technology risks, and ensure alignment with regulatory obligations and internal policies.
Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll lead assurance reviews and independent control testing engagements from scoping and testing through to reporting and action tracking. As a key member of the Technology Assurance team, this role will act as a subject matter expert in AI and Data assurance and bring a systematic, risk-based approach to reviewing and improving internal controls, governance and risk management practices within data and AI environments.
This role is permanent, hybrid role, based in Melbourne.

What you’ll need to make it possible:
As a Senior Technology Assurance Lead, we anticipate your professional experience will be in Technology Assurance, IT Audit, Risk Advisory or Information Security, ideally gained within a professional services environment.
You’ll bring
- Proficiency in delivering assurance over AI and data, be able to competently assess controls across data governance and data management and have some exposure to AI governance frameworks or emerging AI regulations.
- Sound understanding of technology / cyber governance, risk, security and audit principles and control testing methodologies
- Knowledge of technology and cyber risk frameworks and control testing.
- You’ll be CISA certified (or working towards), with other certifications highly regarded e.g. AAIA, CISM, CDPSE, ISO Lead Auditor, CISSP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work proactively and autonomously in a hybrid working environment.
- Clear communication skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders during engagements
