Every day, in every way, we bring real heart to work. We at the St Kilda Care Home located in Cambridge, are searching for a Gardener to join our dedicated team on a permanent part time basis. This is a role wherein the preferred candidate will be working 24 hours a week, Monday to Friday (over at least 3 days). We are flexible on how these hours are worked. Using your horticulture skills and knowledge you will maintain an attractive outdoor environment for the Village residents and their visitors to enjoy.
Where You Will Make an Impact
- Maintenance of gardens and grounds to ensure optimal presentable standard.
- Planting and maintenance of all gardens including annual beds, perennials, shrubs, borders and raised gardens.
- Mowing lawns and weed eating as necessary.
- Operate and maintain irrigation systems.
- Spraying, fertilizing, and mulching.
- Tree and shrub pruning and maintenance.
- Maintain garden equipment.
What About You
- Ideally, you will have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of gardening experience in a similar position.
- Demonstrate effective use of gardening/maintenance equipment.
- A full driving license is essential.
- Be passionate about gardening and maintaining high standards.
- Due to the physical nature of the role, you will need to be physically fit.
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
