Workforce Planning Analyst
The opportunity
As a Workforce Planning Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting a portfolio of care homes by optimising rostering practices, enhancing workforce utilisation, and ensuring operational excellence across multiple business streams. Working closely with managers and administrative teams, you'll provide expert guidance, insights, and support to deliver consistent, efficient, and people-focused workforce planning solutions. How will I help?
- Act as the main point of contact for workforce planning and rostering across a portfolio of care homes.
- Maintain and regularly review workforce plans and master rosters to ensure they meet operational needs and rostering standards.
- Manage permanent employee roster patterns and process roster changes while ensuring compliance with employment requirements and regulations.
- Partner with operational leaders to support workforce goals, rostering best practices, and compliance with Enterprise Agreements.
- Conduct regular roster reviews to identify compliance risks and opportunities to improve workforce efficiency.
- Support workforce planning activities including recruitment, leave management, and casual workforce utilisation.
- Deliver training and guidance to managers and administrators on rostering processes, systems, and best practices.
- Analyse workforce and rostering data to ensure accuracy, budget alignment, and achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs).
What do I need?
- 3+ years' experience in workforce planning, rostering, scheduling, or workforce optimisation within a fast-paced environment.
- A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Human Resources, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience using workforce management and rostering systems such as Kronos, Dimensions, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret workforce data and translate insights into practical workforce solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build effective relationships across operational and support teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
- Sound understanding of workforce planning principles, compliance requirements, and best-practice rostering methodologies.
- Experience identifying opportunities to improve workforce efficiency, drive optimisation initiatives, and support operational performance.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Highly desirable - experience within the aged care, healthcare, community services, or a similarly complex workforce environment.
- Highly desirable - Knowledge of Enterprise Agreements, workforce compliance requirements, and labour planning principles.
