The opportunity
The purpose of the Strategy Manager role is to support the strategy team in driving the end-to-end Bupa A&NZ strategic planning process and deliver specific strategic projects. In collaboration with internal stakeholders, you will drive strategic thinking across key enterprise projects to bring our global strategy and other relevant business strategies to life.
Reporting to the General Manager Strategy & Delivery, this permanent full-time position offers location flexibility, noting Head Office is in Melbourne with the team located across the east coast of Australia. (Bupa offers hybrid working arrangements and you can work from the office or from home)
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for driving allocated parts of the Bupa APAC strategic planning process and development of strategic plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Responsible for ensuring APAC strategy is aligned and consistent with our new global strategy and managing the development of aligned local growth ambitions.
- Leading delivery of allocated projects that identify, assess, recommend and drive alignment across the business on new or existing growth opportunities.
- Assist the Business Units and Functions to align and deliver on their individual strategic objectives.
- Ensure execution is aligned with strategic direction, through collaboration with the business to influence day-to-day work.
- Write local and global board papers, preparation of presentations for the executive team and development of materials for board strategy discussions.
- Managing conflicting priorities in an ambiguous environment.
- Professionally managing senior stakeholders with consistent and clear communication.
- Other responsibilities as directed by the General Manager and the Director, Strategy and Delivery

What do I need?
You are a master of working in a changing and ambiguous environment that calls for simplicity of mind and expression. Whether it’s workshops, individual thinking, presentations, or written materials, you put all of your heart in it. You will have 5+ years of success in a tier 1 or tier 2 consulting firm, or an in-house consulting or corporate strategy role where you have driven the strategic agenda and influenced positive change at an executive level.
In addition, you’ll bring to the role:
- Bachelor degree in Business/Finance/Commerce/Innovation or other similar degree (required)
- Minimum of five years extensive, demonstrated experience in a role that leverages required skills; developing and driving strategic change, influencing diverse stakeholders, including Executive and Leadership teams, and bringing-in and applying new thinking.
- Experience in the Health Industry (desirable).
