The purpose of the role is
We are seeking experienced and motivated Senior Compliance professionals to join our growing APAC Regulatory Compliance & Conduct Risk team. Ideal candidates will bring hands on technical expertise, enthusiasm for an evolving environment, and a track record of supporting senior stakeholders to achieve outstanding risk, compliance and governance outcomes.
As an integral member of the Compliance (second line) team, the Senior Manager – Regulatory Compliance Projects will oversee the execution of regulatory initiatives, collaborating with senior stakeholders to promote ongoing enhancement of compliance frameworks.
This senior position is responsible for providing expert guidance on Competition and Consumer Law requirements and controls, conducting risk assessments and assurance reviews to evaluate adherence to internal standards. Additional responsibilities include incident management, regulatory reporting, and the creation of training and guidance resources to strengthen compliance culture throughout Australia and New Zealand.
This position is offered on an initial 18-month fixed term contract, full-time hours and may be based at our Melbourne or Sydney offices with flexible, hybrid work arrangements available.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead compliance initiatives, including improvement planning and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage the obligations and controls library in the GRC platform and ensure process adherence.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments, assurance reviews, and incident reporting to identify improvements.
- Develop and deliver training, guidance, and communications to support compliance culture.
What you’ll need to make it possible
As a senior compliance professional, you will bring advanced practical expertise in competition and consumer law, along with senior stakeholder management and communication skills to partner effectively across the business. Your recent experience includes working in senior roles in regulated sectors such as insurance, healthcare, or financial services.
In addition, you’ll bring to the role:
- Extensive expertise in ACCC and APRA regulations, demonstrated by designing and completing compliance assurance activities, conducting field work and analysis, advising on obligation management, and leading responses to regulatory issues and improvement plans.
- Senior stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including experience presenting to executive audiences and interacting with regulators.
- Advanced analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear insights, practical advice, and meaningful reporting.
- Skilled in translating complex regulatory concepts into actionable guidance for senior leaders and operational teams.
- Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes through collaboration, strategic communication, and a strong understanding of control design and effectiveness.
- High attention to detail, personal accountability, and resilience in managing complex deliverables and competing priorities.
- Tertiary qualifications in Law, Business, or Risk & Compliance Management (preferred).
