The purpose of this role is:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated compliance professional to support the implementation of Bupa’s Conduct Framework, ensuring we meet the expectations of regulators and the community, and continue to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.
In this role, you will:
- Support the implementation of Bupa’s new ‘Conduct Framework’ by developing governance artefacts and guidance that enable effective conduct risk management
- Define and monitor key risk indicators to support risk-informed decision making and to enable oversight of conduct outcomes across all phases of the customer lifecycle
- Deliver training, communications and business partnering to support your colleagues to understand conduct risk and apply conduct risk management practices.
The Senior Manager, Conduct Risk will have an APAC regional focus, supporting Bupa’s diverse businesses across Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. Bupa APAC provides health insurance, healthcare, aged care, and Blua. A one-size-fits-all approach is rarely practicable; the right candidate will thrive in ambiguity and will need to hit the ground running with a ‘hands-on’ approach to learning the ropes.
This position is offered as permanent, full-time and may be based at our Melbourne or Sydney offices with flexible, hybrid work arrangements available. Part-time applicants considered.

What is needed to make it possible?
We are seeking risk/compliance professionals with 5-7 years of practical experience in highly regulated environments, such as financial services, insurance, or healthcare. You might be a seasoned manager looking to step into a senior role, or a more senior manager looking to broaden their experience in a welcoming team that supports flexible working. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills are essential, and the successful applicant will be able to strategically apply these to partner effectively with business stakeholders.
In addition, you’ll bring to the role:
- Tertiary qualifications in risk & compliance, law, business, or a related field
- Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape and expectations related to customer and market conduct
- The ability to shift approach based on the size and maturity of a business, to provide fit-for-purpose, practical advice, and drive processes that add value and protect our customers
- Experience in presenting to and influencing senior audiences
- Strong analytical, written and verbal skills to communicate risk concepts and deliver meaningful management information, and
- Proven effective stakeholder management skills, modelling Bupa’s values – Brave, Caring and Responsible.
