The Opportunity:
The Program Portfolio Planning Manager oversees owning the planning and delivery of across portfolio program of initiatives spanning Health Insurance, Health Services and Health Propositions, ensuring outcomes are commercially viable, strategically aligned, and delivered to agreed time, scope and budget.
The role applies a strong commercial lens covering business casing, benefits tracking and KPI performance while effectively orchestrating cross functional teams across the organisation. It is also responsible for preparing clear, succinct, executive ready materials for senior leaders and governance forums to support informed decision-making and transparent program progress.
What You’ll Be Doing
Here's what you can look forward to in this role:
- Build and maintain an integrated program plan covering milestones, dependencies, risks and interlocks across Health Insurance (HI), Health Services (HS) and Propositions; keep plans current and transparent.
- Establish pragmatic governance (cadence, status, RAID, decision logs) to enable timely escalation and informed decision-making.
- Define commercial KPIs and set baselines/targets for each initiative.
- Lead business casing, scenario modelling and benefits realisation tracking; surface variances early and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure initiatives adhere to go to market and product delivery frameworks and embed sustainability and ownership into BAU.
- Build trusted relationships with Sponsors, Initiative Owners, Product, Digital, Data, Risk, Legal and external partners; support aligned, on task delivery across squads.
- Facilitate prioritisation trade-offs across portfolios, making interdependencies and commercial implications explicit
What You’ll Bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll ideally have:
- Proven experience leading multi-stream or cross portfolio programs in large, complex organisations.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen, including benefits tracking, KPI design and scenario modelling.
- Experience operating across Product, Digital, Data, Risk, Legal and Finance functions.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive ready materials.
- Experience in health, insurance or regulated industries (advantageous).
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Marketing, or related discipline preferred.
