Description & Requirements
Product Owner
At Bupa, purpose meets possible. Join us to help shape a more connected, more personal and more human future for healthcare.
We’re investing in better systems, smarter technology and innovative ways to support our customers. Here, your work has purpose, your voice is heard, and your impact is real.
About the Role
This is a 12-month secondment opportunity in a hybrid role (2 days in office per week). As a Product Owner at Bupa, you'll be the vital connection between our customers, business stakeholders, and technology delivery teams. Working closely with Product Delivery leaders, Product Managers, and Initiative Owners, you'll ensure we're building and supporting the right Health Insurance products while continuously improving how we deliver them. You'll translate customer needs and business goals into actionable requirements, working with Business Analysts to decompose these into epics, features, and user stories.
You'll own the team backlog and roadmap, defining sprint goals and maintaining focus on priority features that drive real value. Acting as the voice of both customer and business, you'll collaborate with stakeholders to secure alignment and approvals, while contributing to ongoing product improvements—from small optimisations to major initiatives. This role requires someone who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, ensuring Bupa delivers products that truly meet our customers' needs.
What You'll Bring
To succeed in this role, you'll ideally have:
- Proven experience in the Health Insurance industry with strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and fulfilment processes
- Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner in an Agile environment, or as a Senior Business Analyst with similar responsibilities, including creating and refining team backlogs and defining sprint goals
- Strong ability to develop functional and non-functional requirements, translate them into epics and user stories, and apply various prioritisation approaches to deliver incremental value
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate collaboration across multiple streams and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Deep understanding of Scrum and Agile methodologies, with experience eliciting requirements from customer experiences and documenting them using various methods
- Strong business acumen and the ability to navigate ambiguity, assess change impacts across the business, and balance competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
