The purpose of this job
Work for Bupa’s Dental side of the business as Practice Development Manager! You will inspire and empower Practice Managers to become premier leaders by sharing proven strategies for success, leading by example, and serving as their primary source of guidance and support.
You will provide strong operational and financial direction across your group of practices, ensuring effective team management, operational excellence, and full compliance with regulatory and company standards — all aligned with the agreed business strategy.
You will build and maintain trusted relationships with Practice Clinicians and all team members, fostering a high-performance culture focused on patient care, engagement, and commercial success.
Responsibilities include:
- Have a detailed understanding of all aspects of the day to day running of the practice and be the practice subject matter expert from an operational perspective.
- Develop strong relationships with all Practice Leaders and Practice Managers.
- Develop Business Development plans for all practices with a strong focus on improved financial performance including setting financial and operational objectives and targets.
- Lead and support Practice Manager’s, including management of performance and development.
- Engage and train all practice team members on the use of BDC tools and portals as required.
- Review and interpret practice data (at individual practice, regional and national level) and utilise to influence improvements within the individual practice as appropriate.
- Ensure a high level of customer service to our practices and provide an escalation point as needed.
- Network and develop relationships with Dentists outside our business to build a pipeline of talent for recruiting purposes
- Develop Practice Management succession plans in conjunction with National Operations Manager and the broader team by building robust working relationships with all Practice team members
What you’ll need to make it possible
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a business or relationship management role
- Experience in Healthcare and direct interactions with Practitioners
- Multi-site experience – open to industries
- Demonstrated ability to grow business
- Account Management/Relationship Management experience
- Area / regional management, managing geographically disperse teams remotely
- Flexible with working hours & the ability to travel. The successful candidate must have a Driver’s Licence
- Ability to build relationships and influence professionals and practitioners
