The People Advisor is an important role that forms part of Bupa’s central People Connect team, servicing enquiries for Employees and Leaders within Bupa Australia.
As a People Advisor, you will primarily be responsible for the effective case management of employee related matters across Bupa. An important part of the role will be proactively supporting our high-performance culture, as well as our focus on continually improving our people policies, systems, and processes to enhance the employee experience.
How will you make an impact?
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide timely, pragmatic, and accurate advice and guidance on People policies and processes.
- Develop collaborative working relationships with stakeholders to manage, advise on, and provide a range of solutions to resolve employee relations matters.
- Utilise Bupa’s case management system to track and record all cases accurately, ensuring access to quality data.
- Support Leaders with end-to-end management of employee matters – and work with People Partners, Heads of People and Market Unit (MU) Centres of Excellence (COE) to resolve matters where needed.
- Provide coaching and support for Leaders to build their capability on People processes and Bupa systems.
- Ensure fair and accurate interpretation of contract terms, Employment Agreements and applicable Awards.
- Act as an escalation point for People Services Administrators in relation to generalist people enquiries, including application of relevant People policies and processes.
- Proactively contribute to team performance by identifying opportunities to improve / standardise existing People policies, processes, and documentation.
- Generate People related reports and data insights as required.
- Work closely with People Administrators to manage employee changes in a timely manner.
- Support Strategic People Partners/Heads of People with the planning and implementation of a range of people related initiatives and programs of work across Bupa Australia.

What do I need?
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related field.
- Experience in a HR advisory (or similar) role within a large, complex organisation.
- Employee relations experience (highly regarded).
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end HR case management.
- Experience coaching Leaders and employees on People processes, systems and policies.
- Experience with interpretation and application of employment contracts, Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Experience supporting HR processes and policies across the employee lifecycle.
- Excellent stakeholder management experience with ability to influence People Leaders.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Experience using HRIS systems, preferably Workday
