Opportunity Snapshot:
The purpose of this role is to lead the implementation and support the roll-out of the Pega Marketing/ NBA Designer platform in the first instance, and to enable Customer Decisioning across all customer engagements and all customer experience channels in Health Insurance.
In doing so, the Lead Decisioning Architect (LDA) will lead a team of 3+ Decisioning Architects (number may grow over time) to establish the foundations of Customer Decisioning engine, using the Pega platform and broader decisioning landscape.
The LDA will proactive engage with stakeholders across Health Insurance to ensure the customer experience and business value benefits of “always-on” omni-channel 1:1 personalised customer experiences delivered via Next Best Action are maximised.
Your Contribution:
This role is responsible for defining, implementing, and governing business led decisioning architecture, as well as constantly evolving solution designs over time to provide solid end to end customer experiences across the Pega platform and broader decisioning landscape.
Implementations will be largely focused on but not limited to, Customer Marketing activities such as the management of relevant Contact Policies, the implementation of Personalisation Strategies, the development of Predictive and Adaptive Modelling, and the ongoing optimisation of connected Campaign Management practices – both Inbound and Outbound.
The Lead Decisioning Architect is responsible for the development, implementation, optimisation and monitoring of omni-channel decisioning solutions that meet our business needs as well as contributing to and socialising actionable insights that inform future priorities.

Qualifications and training
- Defining the decision architecture, solutions & designs across the Pega Platform and broader decisioning landscape.
- The development and implementation of solid end to end and omnichannel customer experiences, including clearly defined and documented solution designs and implementations across relevant Customer Marketing strategies.
- The development of ongoing insights and key learnings which can be fed back and actioned into future customer engagement strategies.
- Ongoing mentoring, upskilling and cross skilling across the team including more more junior Strategy Designers and Decisioning Architects as well as individuals onboarding or skilling into the Decisioning discipline.
- The ability to communicate decisioning concepts and benefits to multiple and cross functional stakeholders across strategy, marketing, product, technology, data and vendor relationships.
- A commitment to ongoing and specialized self-learning and upskilling across the Pega and Decisioning landscape as new platform versions evolve and cross functional opportunities arise.
- The development and leadership of a decisioning community of practice at BUPA, focused on a common understanding of best practice, experimentation opportunities and the art of the possible.
- Building and leading a team of highly skilled, high performing, engaged and curious individuals who are constantly searching for ways to improve both speed and strategy to market as well as commercial benefits associated with individual activities.
- Lead the establishment of governance frameworks for AI usage in Customer Engagement. Provide critical direction in Decisioning and Data Model Design to ensure scalable and process[1]driven AI solutions.
- Act as an industry expert in AI, helping stakeholders understand and leverage AI solutions' benefits. Provide expertise in using Pega AI technology to automate standardized, repetitive, and rules-based processes.
- Oversee both high- and low-level solution design, ensuring alignment with business requirements. Guarantee the seamless deployment and stability of AI models in production. Stay abreast of the latest developments in decisioning and analytics to maintain cutting-edge AI solutions.
