An exciting, Permanent opportunity has become available for a Lead Data Modeller.
The Chief Data Office and the Data Platform Crew enables product delivery with Business Units and enabling business functions to ensure Bupa APAC can realise our Technology and Data Strategy, to help achieve Bupa’s purpose, meet Bupa’s business goals and ensure the enterprise is using data in a manner that creates and facilitates reusable data products and better practice with information and data.
Our Lead Data Modeller is a key leader in Technology who drives better practice through the creation, education and facilitation of our Data and Integration Engineering teams and Analysts (within Technology and the Business),
The Lead Data Modeller does this by understanding core business concepts, helping solve for how we leverage data and interoperability to solve business problems and creating an environment where data modelling is a value multiplier in how we deliver now and in the future, with the goal of creating common, reusable data products and enterprise models that are a better fit for our future goals in areas such as Connected Care, Customer 360, Integration Fabric, Artificial Intelligence and transition from our legacy data landscape.
This role involves understanding and consulting on business and information features and guide, create and shape their transformation into conceptual, logical, or physical data models that can be used to inform application development and/or development/enhancements to the enterprise’s data and integration infrastructure.
The Lead Data Modeller is a subject matter expert and key contributor to the development, maintenance, roadmap and advocation for Bupa’s Enterprise Data Model in support of data, integration and operational solution initiatives.
What will I be doing?
- Collaborate, facilitate, engage and understand the business of Bupa alongside the data and
- integration products and solutions we produce.
- Establish and maintain a clear, enabling conceptual model that meets multiple business units needs and drive toward this in the work that all Data Modellers and related peers do in Bupa
- Shape and drive the implementation of our Guardrails-based Governance model
- Be a partner in solving for business problems, making trade-offs and supporting technical debt and risk management practices
- Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.
- Work with Engineers to implement data models, build data flows and develop conceptual data models.
- Create conceptual, logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy.
Requirements for the role:
- Proven experience in developing/delivering complex data structures, including the development of conceptual, logical and physical data models
- Deep technical experience in data management roles related to Data Warehousing, Analytics and/or Business Intelligence
- Experience with modern data demands such as AI, Machine Learning, Advanced Analytics, Customer 360, Digital
- Experience in a range of Database Management Systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, Synapse,
- Previous experience supporting complex programs of work in the data infrastructure space
- Demonstrated use of contemporary best practice with regards to:
- Industry standard ETL frameworks, approaches, technologies, and data modelling tools
