The Healthcare Programs Team is part of Bupa’s Australian Health Insurance business and is responsible for the delivery and expansion of alternative models of healthcare delivery that supports value-based healthcare. The goal is to improve the health outcomes and experience of Bupa members, while also supporting customer choice and access to affordable, timely healthcare in the right setting.
As a Healthcare Program Associate, you will report to the Healthcare Program Manager and manage the delivery of a portfolio of healthcare programs that are aligned with these goals and in turn, support Bupa’s members
What you’ll need to make it possible
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant health or business-related field
- Previous experience in a relationship management or business development role.
- An understanding of the funding and provision of healthcare in Australia.
- Experience across either private health insurance, private healthcare and/or public healthcare.
- Demonstrated analytical, evaluation and/or research skills in the areas of health care service delivery.
- Passion for innovation and going outside the box to figure out new ways of delivering system improvements.
What you’ll be doing in this role:
- Manage the day-to-day relationship of a portfolio of healthcare providers to ensure excellence in health service delivery partnerships to BUPA members
- Seek, evaluate and develop new partnerships with external healthcare providers to deliver healthcare service excellence as part BUPA’s of the hospital avoidance and substitution strategy
- Assist in researching and appraising the evidence base on the effectiveness (health and economic) of existing and new models of health service delivery.
- Assist in the procurement of health programs/services including formalising commercials and contract arrangements with external providers.
- Work alongside the Healthcare Management (HCM) Analytics Team to develop and apply evaluation methodologies (including outcome measurement and reporting) to optimise service quality and value.
- Assist Bupa’s communications and marketing teams to drive awareness to and help scale these healthcare programs and partnerships.
