The purpose of the role is:
This senior, strategic leadership role is responsible for shaping and strengthening regulatory relationships, governance frameworks, and executive reporting across the Health Insurance business.
The Head of Health Insurance Regulatory Relationships, Governance and Reporting, is a key member of the Risk Health Insurance (line 2) leadership team. Acting as the primary interface with APRA, you will ensure high-quality, consistent and timely engagement, while driving alignment between regulatory expectations and business priorities.
You will partner closely with executive and Board stakeholders within Health Insurance to deliver clear, insightful reporting on regulatory matters, emerging risks, and key themes. Leading through influence, you will embed robust governance, enhance transparency, and ensure the organisation is well-positioned to respond to regulatory requirements and scrutiny.
Reporting to the divisional Chief Risk Officer for Health Insurance, this role is offered as permanent, hybrid and may be based from Melbourne or Sydney.

What is needed to make it possible:
- Extensive experience in regulatory, risk, governance, or compliance within a complex, regulated environment (insurance, health or financial services preferred), suggested 10 years
- Deep understanding of Australian regulatory frameworks, including APRA and private health insurance obligations
- Proven ability to operate at Executive and Board level, including preparing high-quality reporting, briefings, and insights
- Advanced stakeholder management and influencing skills, with a track record of driving outcomes without direct authority
- Experience managing regulatory relationships and coordinating responses to regulatory requests and engagements
- Highly developed analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory issues into clear, actionable insights
- Demonstrated experience uplifting governance, risk or control frameworks and navigating regulatory change
