The purpose of the Head of People role is to shape and deliver a people strategy that enables our Dental, Optical and Hearing teams to thrive now and into the future. Working closely with the People Director, the Health Services Leadership Team, and the broader Bupa People function, this role ensures our people plan supports business priorities, builds capability and creates an engaging and thriving workplace for our teams. The impact of this role is significant, influencing how our people experience their work, how leaders grow and succeed, and how teams feel supported to deliver exceptional care to customers every day.
The Head of People leads a passionate and committed Strategic People Partnering team, drives strategic workforce planning, and brings trusted HR expertise to senior leaders to strengthen organisational effectiveness. With a strong customer first mindset, this role uses data and insights to identify opportunities, oversees meaningful people projects, champions a culture of health, safety and wellbeing, and ensures core people services are delivered with excellence, compliance and measurable results.
What you’ll need to make it possible
- Strong people leadership experience, grounded in collaboration, open communication and a genuine desire to see people thrive.
- Extensive experience as a senior HR generalist within a large organisation
- A genuine strength in building trusted relationships with senior leaders and influencing stakeholders, offering both strategic guidance and practical, solutions‑focused support.
- Proven capability in leading and embedding contemporary HR, leadership and organisational development practices that lift capability and foster a strong, thriving culture.
- Solid knowledge of industrial and employee relations, including confident interpretation of the Fair Work Act, NES, Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment, with the mindset to create meaningful impact.
