About the Home
Bupa Woodville is a modern care home located on Woodville Road where you’ll be close to the local community with schools, parks, churches and cafes nearby. It consists of 108 beds, with various care units. Our primary goal is placing our focus on the health, lifestyle and well-being of our residents.
About the Role
As a Chef at our care home, you will provide well-presented and nutritious meals in a home like environment. Your passion for food along with your person-first approach will make a real difference to the life of our residents.
This is a permanent role paying between $37.02 and $38.03 plus super, subject to years of experience.
Duties
- Management of all food preparation and cooking activities
- Liaise with residents, families, and the care team to ensure residents’ dietary, individual and cultural needs are met
- Ensure the efficient functioning of kitchen and catering services
- Lead, coach and develop catering/kitchen staff
- Implement and maintain all infection control and food safety procedures
- Perform administrative duties related to the kitchen operation
Skills and Experience
- Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is essential
- Previous experience gained in a similar role ideally within the aged care industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly developed organisation and time management skills
- The ability to solve problems independently
- An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
