The purpose of this role
The Automation Test Lead will lead and drive the automation test frameworks from strategy through to implementation in projects/programs within BUPA Technology by adhering to and implementing the missions, goals, standards, and test processes established for BUPA Australia’s (ALM) Application Life Cycle Management.
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain the overall automation test strategy for projects/programs ensuring the most effective and efficient testing is carried out.
• Evaluate technical and business requirements and produce comprehensive test plans and estimates aligned with the automation framework.
• Lead all automation testing activities and facilitate communication with stakeholders to ensure testing is completed within schedule and budget.
• Proactively participate in test process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure test environment requirements are clearly defined and environments are effectively managed and updated.
• Manage the design, creation, execution, and reporting of tests using a wide range of test tools across diverse technology stacks.
• Plan and align execution of automation scripts across environments as part of release management to achieve quality outcomes.
• Maintain testing KPIs and metrics, using data to improve QA and testing effectiveness.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure automation solutions align with business expectations.
• Organize and lead risk identification and analysis sessions to inform estimation, planning, monitoring, and control.
• Provide guidance to automation test analysts and lead CI/CD pipeline initiatives.
• Support onshore and offshore teams with QA and testing activities.
• Monitor and control ongoing test activities to achieve project/release objectives.
• Assess and report timely test status to stakeholders.
• Perform other reasonable responsibilities as directed by the line or operational manager.
What you’ll need to make it possible
• Minimum 4 years’ experience working with multiple stakeholders including testing services, enterprise project services, and delivery units.
• Extensive experience in ASP.NET/C#, XML, SOAP, SAML, SQL Server, Visual Studio, and Azure DevOps stack.
• Good understanding of branching strategies and GitHub.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality code, conduct code reviews, and provide feedback to developers.
• Experience developing test automation frameworks using Selenium and Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Competent with Azure DevOps for test planning, execution, automation, pipeline orchestration, and reporting.
• Experience in SQL, UML, and SCRUM methodologies.
• Expertise in defining and implementing best-practice automation strategies in CI/CD environments with a strong focus on risk-based testing.
• Experience in automation feasibility analysis.
• Skilled in implementing and maintaining automated test suites/scripts.
• Experience using Visual Studio tools.
• Experience with DevOps tools and processes.
