The purpose of this role is:
As an Assurance Lead, you play a critical role in strengthening the control environment across an assigned portfolio within the Health Insurance business. Working closely with stakeholders to assess risks, challenge existing processes, and deliver practical recommendations that drive continuous improvement. This role combines analytical thinking to conduct thematic deep dives and strong stakeholder management to ensure the business meets its risk, compliance, and regulatory obligations with confidence.
As a part of the Line 2 Risk Health Insurance team, this role is offered as a permanent hybrid position that may be based in Melbourne or Sydney.

What is needed to make it possible:
- 3-5 years professional risk experience in line 1 or 2 to demonstrate your proficiency in assurance, control testing (design and operating effectiveness) and thematic reviews
- Ability to analyse data to solve problems, complete GRC reporting and translate insights into practical recommendations. At Bupa we leverage Service Now for technology, Protecht for incidents and SAI360for other GRC reporting.
- Effective stakeholder management skills to partner and influence, communication skills to present succinct messaging to senior leaders
- Strong understanding of Enterprise Risk Management frameworks and the 3 Lines of Defence model
- Flexibility, resilience and adaptability to effectively lead in a fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
