The purpose of this job
The Analytics Engineer is responsible for the delivery and productionisation of Data Science and Analytics projects that contribute to improved health insurance customer outcomes, in line with the health insurance business strategy and customer analytics roadmap.
Work closely with the data program and data technology teams, to ensure migration from legacy systems to the new data platform in Azure.
Implement MLOps Framework to support the delivery of a set of propensity models that drive audience selection and personalisation for customer recommendations, offers and 1-1 marketing campaigns.
Provide support to the Customer Insights and Decision Science team with the development and management of data assets and pipelines that support feature development and insights generation.
Work with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate these into data-driven approaches.
You may also carry out any other duties reasonably requested by Bupa from time to time.
What you’ll need to make it possible:
- 3+ years of business experience in customer analytics / data science / data engineering or similar field, with a strong focus on
- Engineering using cloud first approaches
- Data processing frameworks
- Modern data management practices
- Agile working rhythms
- Automation & Efficiency
- Qualified in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Machine Learning or related field)
- Programming Language Skills
- SQL/TSQL (Mandatory)
- Python (Preferred)
- Microsoft Azure data services skills (or equivalent e.g. AWS)
- Azure Synapse/Azure SQL DW (preferred)
- Azure DataBricks/Spark (preferred)
- Azure ML
- Power BI
What you’ll be doing in this role:
- Work with business stakeholders and data science / analytics team to understand detailed data requirements to be implemented
- Engineering of data pipelines from data acquisition and ingestion though the data lake, to various means of consumption including, reports, dashboards, applications, models, and API’s.
- Engineering of data features in support of advanced analytical processes and data science / analytics teams. Ensure that data features are reusable across different models and other areas of Bupa where appropriate, through championing the use of the feature store.
- Engineering of data processes supporting monitoring of quality of key data sets and advanced analytical solutions’ inputs and outputs to minimise risk.
- Work in accordance with Bupa’s designs, standards and guidelines, and patterns.
