The opportunity:

The purpose of the Accounting Manager role (Fixed term until March 2026) is to provide accurate and timely financial reporting and controls and assist management in day-to-day accounting activities. The primary focus is to provide service excellence to internal stakeholders and key clients. The quality of the Finance function’s work must be accurate. This position must take a leadership role in driving continuous improvement projects.

How will I help?

• Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of dental practice bank reconciliations
•  Identify and deliver improved financial processes, including use of systems solutions where applicable
• Maintain the Treasury function of the business including ensuring appropriate level of cash available in transactional accounts
• Maintenance of all aspects of transactions banking access – new accounts, new users
• Act as intermediary between our practices and our financial institutions 
• Contribute to monthly Dental Draw (commission) calculation for our dental contractors 
• Oversee the preparation of monthly journals and maintain control of the business’ accounting records 
• Oversee the preparation of monthly accounts including P&L’s & cashflows including variance analysis 
• Review practice expenses for anomalies 
• Analytical review employee and practice petty cash claims to ensure compliance with company policies 
• Oversee patient refund process
• Training and development of team members

What do I need?
 

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate with a tertiary qualification in Business or Commerce, and a CA or CPA qualification. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of finance controls and policy frameworks, ensuring compliance and driving adherence to internal processes and business controls. Your ability to manage KPIs, recommend improvements, and implement these changes effectively is essential.

Strong team management skills are crucial for this role, along with the ability to foster a collaborative work environment. We value excellent verbal and written communication skills, who are able to articulate complex financial matters to both internal and external stakeholders. You will be expected to demonstrate well-developed business partnering skills, effectively collaborate across teams, and influence key decisions within the organisation.
