The purpose of this job is…..
The ADF Health Services Contract provides integrated and seamless end-to-end health support to 85,000 Defence personnel across 59 facilities. This includes integrated workforce providing health services such as primary and occupational healthcare, dental, physiotherapy, mental health and psychology services, pharmacy, occupational rehabilitation and health administration. As well pathology, imaging and radiology, vocational rehabilitation, mental health, hospital, specialist, allied health, patient transport and other off base services enabled by Bupa systems.
The purpose of this role is to deliver and manage on-base Optical clinics to ADF personnel. You will be responsible for managing and delivering ADF on-base clinics including but not limited to managing schedules, assisting with selection of product, ordering and dispensing.
This is a part-time role – approximately 22.8 hours per week (however flexible with the days/hours) . The primary location for this role is two clinic days per week at HMAS Stirling and on average two clinics per month at RAAF Pearce. Preparations for these clinics will be completed at the Bupa Optical Perth store.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist customers with appropriate frame selection including sunglasses, make lens recommendations and fully explain the lens options to the customer.
- Provide adequate instruction to first time multifocal and bifocal wearers so that their chances of success are maximized. Make frame adjustments and repairs as required.
- Maintain accurate customer records, including recording of quotes and explain to customers what they are being charged for. Ensure data entered into Optomate is accurate.
- Monitor all jobs on order to identify those running late and keep customers informed if their job is going to be late.
- Enter HICAPS claims were appropriate strictly in agreement with the item numbers outlined on the current price list and strictly in line with the rules of HICAPS (outlined in the Procedures Manual).
- Develop a healthy, happy, engaged and productive team dynamic with all stakeholders.
- Develop close relationships with the local Health Centre Manager and Medical Teams – ADF.
- Ensure excellent customer care and quality of service. Resolve any complaints quickly, efficiently and professionally
What you’ll need to make it possible
- Tertiary qualification in Retail or Business Administration – High Desirable
- 2 years of Optical Industry experience – Desirable
- Relevant Professional Association Memberships are expected
- Australian Citizen
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- This is a Security Cleared Position. The occupant must be an Australian Citizen and must be eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance
